I stayed near Ennerdale Bridge a few weeks ago at one of the regular C2C B&Bs favoured by Packhorse and Sherpa Van - a place we stayed at in 2010 when we did the C2C.
We were surprised when the proprieter told us that bookings were 50% down this year on last, both his direct bookings and the bookings made via the bag carrying company's. Since then we noticed another excellent place we stayed at in Orton (the best on the whole route in fact) had changed hands over the winter.
It seems that "Julia's bumps" are smoothing out as far as the C2C goes, even though her actually bump is getting bigger (She is expecting a baby soon).
