Have just been on to Proboards Support and someone complained about the search feature not working recently. Reply from Proboards Admin was as follows: Search has been working on and off for a while now. We're currently attempting to track down what's causing it to go down so we can prevent it from happening again.
For now, we usually bring it back up shortly after it goes down.Think it must be like new versions of Windows. Lots of bugs to iron out ... derek

Jenny
It's been a while since I did it but I just kept fiddling (resizing) with the size of the picture until I was as close to the maximum size allowed by Proboards as possible. The usual resize on Picasa for web publication was on the small side .It took a few attempts to get it looking OK.
Nick
PS you missed an "interesting" night out on Skidda!

Our two pebbles from St Bees are now on the beach at Robin Hoods Bay,placed there last Monday. When we were there Nick the tide was out and we had about 200yds of shoreline but I know what you mean Hi Jennifer and Stephen,
Hope you had good weather for your walk along the last section of the Coast to Coast at Robin Hoods Bay and good to hear your two pebbles from St. Bees are now resting somewhere on the beach.Caroline

Nick's looks fine, mine's too small, just want to know how to enlarge it without losing it - have always had a bit of trouble posting avatars

Congratulations to you all for making it in those conditions, sorry we couldn't be with you. Sounds like you enjoyed it despite the weather.

Well spotted Caroline and a very nice picture as well. Infact it's much better than the one in my Definitive Guide to the Wildlife of Britain. This rather heavy tome tells me this orchid was declared extinct back in WW1 days, but one was found in North Yorkshire in 1930. I believe it is still rare and not as widespread as the orchidologists would like. Regards, Frank.
Hi Frank, Glad you liked the photo and Thank You for the further info. I must admit I was not expecting to see these rare Orchids on a walk. There was not just the one specimen either. Have a look at the photo below.

One for Derek I expect
I've just noticed the search function seems to be broken. All I get when trying either using the magnifying glass in a board or the general search function is a "cannot connect to server " message.
I've tried on 2 PCs and laptops,a smartphone and different servers/ISPs and none seem to work.

Have people enlarged their avatars in the new format? Mine still comes up the same size as it was before. Can I change it or do I have to reload it? Have looked at the edit avatar option but don't want to try anything in case I lose my current avatar and can't work out how to replace it. As Frank asked on the embed picture link instructions in Janet and John English please
