Haha, no worries! :D

I`ve got it on a rinse cycle now to try and get the old detergent out, I`ll do that once more before I sling it in with the Nikwax Tech Wash, followed by another rinse then I stick the proofer in.

Fingers crossed.

No mate.

In my post above I asked a question that nobody answered, so I "BUMPED" the thread back up to the top so it would appear on the home page as the most recent post in this section. :)

Sorry mate, its me been simple ... must have missed your earlier thread with all the other postings etc .... to answer your question ... it probably wouldn't do it any harm to put the extra through on an extra rinse cycle to just make sure there's no traces of anything left in there before you put the wash in proofer in ...

Gary

Sorry Paul'
Just seen your question.

You don't have to get rid of the residue of the wash stuff before the wash-in as it's not detergent based.

Not done it yet, Gary.

I stuck it in the washer again this morning on a rinse setting to double check and make sure all the detergent was out. I`ll send it round again with the Tech Wash in a mo and then the wash in this afternoon.

I`ll let you know how it went when it`s done. I`m gonna wave teh shower at it and see what happens. :)

Ok Paul, you could try putting it on and then getting in the shower to really test it out?

Mick

I use Tech wash etc, to clean and re-proof my goretex gear every couple of months. I always feel that my kit smells of "Pennywell" (a Sunderland estate) afterwards. For those who don't know what I'm on about, imagine your local Charver estate full of kids wearing Mera Peak Christmas pressie jackets stinking of Netto fabric softener.

Good stuff so I put up with the smell. Mind you I would never buy a Mera Peak in my neck of the woods.

There are plenty of chav kids where I live in Salford too, Mick. I was telling Lindsay on Saturday that every chav in Eccles and Salford is wearing North Face All Terrain jackets.

This ensures that that I won`t ever buy another North Face product again. :D

Gonna test my jacket in a mo. :)

So someone else has noticed that now everyone it seems is wearing North Face kit, I thought it was just my imagination. ;D

Thinking about it Andy, if I hang around one of the local pubs long enough I could pick up so cheap gear. :D

Testing of the jacket is complete.

Can I have a drum role, please........... SUCCESS!! :)

My jacket is now waterproof again but it doesn`t seem to have worked properly in some areas of the seams, mainly under the arms. I suppose though that these areas wouldn`t be as exposed to the elements as others so it should be fine until I can afford a new jacket.

edit - I`ve also been a Ridge Runner for ages and just noticed, lol! :D But none of you b****r`s have congratulated me! >:( ;D

Whoa steady on there on guys - a lot of my gear is North Face and not for 'Chavvy fashion' reasons but pure and simple its what I find best and what works for me. Unless of course as a well a 'past it, out of touch with the times' type of guy ( so my kids tell me >:( ) I am also a Chav :o
