I think my favourite is Codale Tarn. I was up on Tarn crag in February and the fog was so thick I could hardly see my hand in front of my face. I used a GPS for the first time and the tarn appeared using the GPS. I felt alot better when I got back on a good path.
PS which is the highest tarn in The Lakes?

lindsay ... i have a feeling ... but i could be wrong ... that is high house tarn on the glaramara/allen crags ridge ... its around about the 2100 feet mark

The highest is Red Tarn at 2356ft followed by Three Tarns at2340ft.
