I think an ascent of Latrigg from Gale Road, would be way too strenuous for an old stager like me - I'll be over 60 by 28 April. ;D ;D

Almost 300 feet of ascent according to Tracklogs :o :o

I think you're probably right, Martin ;). You may well be over the hill now, but aren't you tempted to have a go by the brekkie chez Kevin and Jenny once over the hill (Latrigg)? Just wish I could join in :(.

As mentioned above,

For those who don't want to go back to bed after our walk up Latrigg on the Saturday morning, Frank and I will be driving over to Uldale for a longer trip in the fells,

All welcome,

Lindsay

I will being asking The Committee to make a donation but others may wish to help as well, in which case it maybe best to send monies to The Society so that all donations can be given as one amount.
I will ask that this is sorted ASAP as the event is not far away,

Lindsay

The Committee has agreed to donate £100 to the Light the Wainwrights Fund (or, whatever it is called).

If any Forum member would also like to contribute, then Lindsay has agreed to collect donations and send them all to Kendal Museum.

Could you send any donation (made payable to The Wainwright Society) to:

Look me up on www.artbyraybradshaw.com
I like to paint people enjoying the outdoors in and around the English Countryside. Mainly the Lakes and the Dales. More recently the urban scene is included. I would like to think that if AW was alive today, if he didn't appreciate my talent, he would at least get my humour.

Just another update....

We are up to 6 at present. Kevin and Jenny have kindly said that is anyone wants to take part and would like to crash at their house the night before , they are most welcome. We will walk from Applethwaite leaving about at 4am.

After the Latrigg walk we will go to Kevin and Jenny's for a sarnie before heading off Uldale way for a walk on the Northen Fells. If anyone would like to join us later just for the second walk, please just let me know.
As Derek has said, if anyone would like to contribute to the donation, send a cheque to me, address is on earlier post on this thread,

cheers,

Lindsay

Just a quick update,

Jenny and Kevin are checking our route in the next few days.

Could I ask those who are staying at at Jenny's to pm Jenny and discuss what time to arrive on Friday , if you prefer Horlicks or Oveltine etc ;D,

I will also give a meeting place for those not staying, this is likely to be Spooney Green Rd somewhere,

speak soon,

Lindsay
