A few more photos of our walk on Sunday.

For those who missed it it was listed on events on the back page of the Spring issue of Footsteps.

Settle were having a Ride2Stride walking festival encouraging combing a train journey with a walk: http://www.skyware.co.uk/scwf/default.html and David thought it appropriate that the Wainwright Society should be involved and volunteered to lead this walk.

When planning it he'd met Tom Lord at Lower Winskill and arranged for him to have a chat with us: www.lowerwinskill.co.uk/he was fascinating and his web site is well worth a visit.

Great photos Jenny you captured the day perfectly.

One of two flowers you could not name are Violets (purple).

The fleeting hour of life of those who love the hills is quickly spent, but the hills are eternal, always there will be the lonely ridge, the dancing beck, the silent forest, the exhilaration of the summits. These are for the seeking and those who seek and find while there is still time will be blessed both in mind & body. AW- Book 7 The Western Fells.

Great selection of photo's Jenny.
A superb day out enjoyed by all.

Bit of a nervous 90 mins for me in the afternoon awaiting news of City's crucial game but news of their win capped off a perfect day.

New territory for us so look forward to further trips up there.

Appreciation to David for his efforts organising this walk.

Yes a shame that I missed it . I was in the lakes as it happened . I tend to go to the website for the events information and I had another look and never saw this on there. I have mentioned on the society Facebook page that perhaps I need new specs. ::) Maybe that is the case but if not I think that the website events section should mirror whatever is said in footsteps. ( which in my household tends to get mislaid after a while )

Anyway, sounds and looks like you all had a great day. :D

Look me up on www.artbyraybradshaw.com
I like to paint people enjoying the outdoors in and around the English Countryside. Mainly the Lakes and the Dales. More recently the urban scene is included. I would like to think that if AW was alive today, if he didn't appreciate my talent, he would at least get my humour.
