Yesterday and another fine day in the Lake District and this week the objective was to do six of the summits south of Helvellyn which to name in order of ascent where Clough Head, Great Dodd, Watson's Dodd, Stybarrow Dodd, Raise and White Side. These add six to my second round.
The route started from Legburthwaite with the Clough Head stage being via Fisher Wife Rake and then a big circle round back the Legburthwaite.
The route comes out at 10 miles (9.93 to be precise, but with all my wanderings off track it was probably a bit more) and 3,591 feet of ascent.
Pictures below,
Frank.

That is a lovely walk in good weather. My only concern, and it could be me, but I thought those summits were North of Helvellyn. Maybe my map is upside down!

Full marks for those so far who where alert enough to spot my little 'intentional' faux pas and correctly spotted that the Dodds and the rest are north of Helvellyn.
Frank.

Frank,
The photos look good in thumbnail size. But when I enlarge them there is a blue cast. Is that me, or is that deliberate on your part?

Look me up on www.artbyraybradshaw.comI like to paint people enjoying the outdoors in and around the English Countryside. Mainly the Lakes and the Dales. More recently the urban scene is included. I would like to think that if AW was alive today, if he didn't appreciate my talent, he would at least get my humour. |

Must be you Peter as they appear Ok to me when I open them up. I am no photographer as you can probably tell and I have this camera which I point and press the clicker and hope for the best.
So believe me nothing I do with my snaps is deliberate.
Frank.

The fleeting hour of life of those who love the hills is quickly spent, but the hills are eternal, always there will be the lonely ridge, the dancing beck, the silent forest, the exhilaration of the summits. These are for the seeking and those who seek and find while there is still time will be blessed both in mind & body. AW- Book 7 The Western Fells. |

Another good walk Frank. I reckon Fisher Wife's Rake is THE route up Clough Head, but the trudge from the top of Sandbed Gill to the summit is an anticlimax
