Hi Vinney and Poe!!
Welcome to the forum!!
There are plenty of smaller fells to cut your teeth on, but remember some of the small ones can have steep bits Castle crag for example is steep near the top but not really exposed at all. Maybe a stroll up Binsey or one of the Mell Fells would be a good place to start,
good luck,
Lindsay

Welcome to the Forum
As Lindsay has said, there are a few, lower and less demanding fells to begin with. As well as those that Lindsay has mentioned, Walla Crag near Keswick has a fine view from the summit and is worth the effort of getting there. Latrigg is also an easy climb and also has a great view down the length of Borrowdale.
Let us know which you decide to climb.

Hiya and welcome to the forum, am sure you will love it on here
All the above are fab fells..Id like to add High Rigg, a beautiful walk, not too high at all. Can be made in to a lovely circular walk with a nice flat ending along the valley floor with Low Bridge End farm doing tea, coffee etc with cakes etc near the end.....parking on the A591 near St.Johns in the Vale...a beauty of a walk that I never tire of
Gowbarrow Fell is fabulous too with stunning views and starting from Aira Force Car park, the path is very well defined and its a nice easy walk with the falls included too.
I could go on , but I better not If you want to see some pics of these walks.just ask...Ive got loads from both routes to give you an idea of what its like..If you do..prepare to be bored stiff as I do have a reputation of taking LOADS!!!!
Ooooo you are gonna love walking in paradise I promise you
Takecare and hope to hear from you again

Welcome to the forum Vinny and Poe
More suggestions to add to those above: Dodd from the visitors centre, which could include a visit to the Osprey veiwing area; Lord's Seat from the Whinlatter visitors centre - both these provide maps of their local walks and have cafe's. Sale Fell, several possible routes, all fairly gentle and then a broad top to wander round with good views.
You'll soon get hooked once you've started

I love to go a-wandering ..... |

Look me up on www.artbyraybradshaw.comI like to paint people enjoying the outdoors in and around the English Countryside. Mainly the Lakes and the Dales. More recently the urban scene is included. I would like to think that if AW was alive today, if he didn't appreciate my talent, he would at least get my humour. |
